Afterglow by Anglow – An Incredible Farm-to-Table Vegan Restaurant
While there are many benefits of cooking foods, there are various nutrients that are important to our bodies and can only be derived from raw foods. Raw food was man’s main diet long before the invention of fire but is becoming trendier once again thanks to its many health benefits. Raw food hasn’t been subjected to the overwhelming effects of fire and flame, which destroys the freshness of food thereby making it less important to the human system. Fortunately, raw food is becoming hugely popular in Singapore and a few Singaporean vegan restaurants are on top of it.
As a farm-to-table vegan restaurant; Afterglow on Keong Saik is a raw food vegan restaurant using premium and fresh ingredients to make innovative plant-based meals from scratch. At its conception, owners, Lionel Ang and Carmen Low consulted renowned Czech nutritionist and raw food advocate Adela Stoulilova to create a menu that’s totally heat-free and sugar-free.
Based on 24 Keong Saik Road, this shophouse restaurant is really cozy. It’s designed with lots of wood to make it look and feel naturally organic. The bike on the wall gives it a hipster feeling but in a very balanced way.
Vegan With A Twist
With a growing vegan population in Singapore, Afterglow offers some incredible plant-based meals. I did try a bite of shitake mushroom marinated with hints of sesame oil and it’s so delightful. The Teriyaki ‘Meat’ Balls was downright my favorite. It was so delicious and so different from any that I’d taken before.

The raw chocolate salted caramel fudge was very clean but a bit oily and rich. The ingredients were like I’ve never seen before in a dessert; raw avocado Rich Tahini Layer, Cacao Fudge, Vanilla and Medjool dates filled into Walnut Crust
Afterglow will certainly make you fall in love with organic and vegan food even if you aren’t a vegan. The prices are very reasonable. This restaurant will instill in you the belief that pure, raw, healthy and tasty meals
